- The Warehouseman plays a crucial role in maintaining seamless operations within our supply chain. This position is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, and dispatching products, equipment, and materials from suppliers and the main warehouse. The primary objective is to maintain precise inventory control, ensure optimal stock levels, and support safe, efficient warehouse operations.
- Key Responsibilities
- 1. Inventory & Stock Management
- Receiving & Inspection: Receive incoming shipments from suppliers and the main warehouse; inspect items for damage, discrepancies, or quality issues.
- Dispatching: Accurately pick, pack, and prepare goods and equipment for dispatch to designated locations or customers.
- Stock Control: Monitor inventory levels regularly to ensure adequate stock is available and report low stock or overstock conditions to management.
- Record Keeping: Maintain precise records of all incoming and outgoing inventory using manual logs or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- 2. Storage & Material Handling
- Organized Storage: Store products, materials, and equipment in designated warehouse zones, optimizing space and ensuring easy retrieval.
- Safe Handling: Safely operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks) to move materials efficiently.
- Stock Rotation: Practice standard stock rotation principles (e.g., FIFO/LIFO where applicable) to prevent product degradation or obsolescence.
- 3. Maintenance & Safety
- Warehouse Upkeep: Ensure the warehouse environment remains clean, organized, safe, and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Equipment Care: Conduct routine checks on handling equipment and report any maintenance needs promptly.
Qualifications:
- Education High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Experience Proven experience as a Warehouseman, Material Handler, or similar role.
